Have all your supplies? Okay lets go.
1. Open new image 500 x 500 transparent.
2. Open your valentine pattern or one of your choice, minimize it. In your styles box, set your
background to pattern and in the dropdown menu choose your pattern.
3. Set your foreground to color, white.
4. Add new layer, name this head. Selections, Load from disk, head.sel. Floodfill with the white color.
Deselect.
5. Effects, 3-D effects, InnerBevel. Apply these settings.
6. Add new layer, name this muzzle. Selections, Load from disk, muzzle.sel. Floodfill with #FFC0C0.
Deselect. Effects, Noise, add 7% uniform. Apply the innerbevel from above, same settings.
7. Still on your muzzle layer, Selections, Select all, Float, Invert. Effects, 3-D effects, Dropshadow. Apply
these settings.
8. Add new layer, name this headtop. Selections, Load from disk, headtop.sel. Floodfill with black.
Deselect.
9. Making sure you are on your head layer, Add new layer, name this eyes. Selections, Load from disk,
eyes.sel. Floodfill with black. Deselect. Effects, 3-D effects, InnerBevel. Apply the Round preset.
10. Add new layer, name this ears. Move this layer below the head layer. Selections, Load from disk,
ears.sel. Floodfill with black. Deselect.
11. Add new layer, name this horns. Move this layer below the head layer, but above the ears layer.
Selections, Load from disk, horns.sel. Floodfill with white. Deselect. Apply the InnerBevel we used
before, same settings.
12. Add new layer, name this nose. Move this layer above the muzzle layer. Selections, Load from disk,
nose.sel. Floodfill with #FFC0C0. Go to Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast. Brightness minus 36/Contrast
0. Deselect.
13. Add new layer, name this dress. Move this layer below your head layer. Selections, Load from disk,
dress.sel. Floodfill with the valentine pattern or one of your choice. Scale 50/Angle 0. Deselect.
14. Effects, Texture, Blinds. Apply these settings.
15. Apply the InnerBevel, same settings we have been using.
16. Add new layer, name this hearttrim. Selections, Load from disk, middleheart.sel. Floodfill #E8BAB9.
Deselect. Add new layer, no need to name this yet. Selections, Load from disk, 1stheart.sel. Floodfill
with #E8BAB9. Deselect. Right click on the 1st heart and duplicate, Image, Mirror. Add new layer, name
this 2nd heart. Selections, Load from disk, 2ndheart.sel. Floodfill with #E8BAB9. Deselect. Duplicate this
layer and Image, Mirror. In your layer pallet hide all layers except 1st and 2nd hearts. Merge visible.
Unhide your other layers. Duplicate the merged hearts. Image, Mirror. Move the merged heart layer and
the duplicated one below the hearttrim layer. In your layer pallet, hide all layers, except your merged
heart layer, the duplicated one and the hearttrim layer. Merge visible, rename to hearttrim.
17. Apply the blinds effects, same settings. Selections, Select all, Float, Invert. Apply the dropshadow,
same settings as before. Deselect.
18. Add new layer, name this leftshoe. Move this layer above your hearttrim layer. Selections, Load
from disk, leftshoe.sel. Floodfill with black. Deselect.
19. Effects, 3-D effects, InnerBevel. Apply these settings.
20. Add new layer, name this right shoe. Selections, Load from disk, rightshoe.sel. Floodfill with black.
Deselect. Apply same innerbevel we used for leftshoe.
20. Click on your hearttrim layer. With your eraser tool, erase the small amount of hearttrim between the
shoes.
21. Add new layer, name this sleeves. Move this layer above your dress layer. Selections, Load from
disk, sleeves.sel. Floodfill with the color you used for the hearttrim. #E8BAB9. Deselect. Apply the
blinds effect, same settings, except check horizontal. Selections, Select all, Float, Invert. Apply the
dropshadow, same settings as before.
22. Add new layer, name this hands. Move this layer below the sleeves layer. Selections, Load from
disk, hands.sel. Floodfill with black. Do not deselect yet. Click on your paintbrush tool, Apply these
settings.
23. Change your foreground color to white. On the hands place some white, 2 on each hand is good.
Selections, Invert, Apply the dropshadow, same settings. Deselect.
24. Add new layer, name this big heart. Selections, Load from disk, bigheart.sel. Floodfill with red.
Deselect.
25. Add new layer, name this text. Set your foreground and background to white. Click on your text
tool. Floating and antialias checked, size 24. You may have to alter that if you are using another font
and another saying other than Be Mine.While still selected, move it in the center of your heart. Deselect.
26. Right click on your text layer in your layer pallet and duplicate. On the duplicated one, move it
below the original. Go to Selections, Select all, Float, Modify, Expand by 3. Floodfill with #E8BAB9.
Dont deselect. Selections, Invert, Apply the dropshadow. Deselect.
27. At this point you are done, you can add a texture or sculpture to the text or heart. Add some flowers
or other accents. Once you are pleased with the way it looks, merge visible all layers. Save it as a tube
or add a background.
